Way south of Ascalon. You have to do the Sanctum Cay Mission to get there.

It is a Coop. The place is actually named Sanctum Cay.

coolporsche: It's great that you found a Guild Wars website/forum, but read around. Use a map. If you really want spoilers you'll find them, but I doubt anyone will spell out the whole game for you. It's many hours from where you are in game.

Load the map on the first homesite <GWGURU> and load full map <tyria> It'll let you explore where everything is. I put guildwiki there because it's a very handy site to have, bookmark/favorite them both.

If this is your first time in the game then play it the way it is and do not skip anything, you will eventually get to the desert.
But to hold you over, here is the progression of the game

Ascalon Area-> Northern Shiverpeaks-> Kryta area (where lion's arch is)-> Maguma Jungle-> Desert-> Southern Shiverpeaks-> Ring of fire islands.
